i absolutely love it. i love the big apple. a german great aunt of mine had a bar in the ridgewood/queens area years ago. it's been too many years since i've been though.
man i love that photo of central park. and i love that park....lunch at cipriani and then a stroll? i always stay in chelsea when i come but i walk walk walk all over the place. nice valentine to your home!
She ~ I once got to ride a helicopter over Central Park and it was quite a sight! I am new to these Mute Mondays, so this was the best I could muster. Indeed, it is a valentine. I love her much...
Oh jes' delightful, Darlin'. I have fond memories of a little hidden pocket called Tudor City on the East jes' below the UN when work plopped me in the Big Apple. Then later I was fortunate to spend NY work day nights a cherry spot near Lex and 65th...an' duck into that amazin' St. Vincent Ferrer church....and would walk and walk and walk in yore city. An N'Yorkers is friendly, no matter what other folks claim.
Love the bagels and Holly Golightly!
Youse a dear sweet thang to post this fer us'uns. An I sees that ya love Big Apple like we love Dixie--well, I'se a Flannery Fan, so ya kno I thinks that PLACE is a central character in all good stories.
All Moi's relatives are NYC born 'n' bred. My father, however, decided he wanted to be a COWBOY, so here I am. My husband is from the south. Can you say I'm a little schizoid? But, sigh, I miss NYC something terrible. Lovely tribute, thanks!
Makes me a bit homesick... esp. the subway pic... that single seat next to the conductor cubby was always so cute. Is that a current pic? (i.e. do the old trains still run?)
