"The air of the moors, the freedom of home, the dawn of prosperity..." ~ Jane Eyre
It is the first day of summer in my life.
My grade book has been turned in, my files have been cleared out, and I have put all books away. In a few hours I shall leave here and never return, and it feels as good as opening a window on a breezy summer morning and taking in a deep breath of the savory air.
I feel like a child swinging by a rope and about to dive into a lake...a little scared because I am not exactly sure where I am going to land, but quite excited because I know I am going to make a big splash wherever I do land.

WOO HOO!!!!!
I am very happy for you. There is nothing worse than going someplace each day that you are no longer passionate about. I am living proof. Perhaps the tales from your upcoming quest will inspire me and others to follow suit.....
changes are exciting, exhilarating, can be a wild ride..:)in and of itself..
have you thought about downloading louis armstrong and ella fitzgerald singing 'summertime' together to go along with your summertime posts?
that song is one of my favorites.

What's the deal with 'labels?' haha I never understand why they are there! Like, am I such a clod that I can't figure out what the post was about? BTW, what WAS the post about? haha
If my posts had 'labels,' they'd read: 'For Geeks and Nerds,' 'Ranting,' 'Goofy Skits from Will and Ed,' and 'She Thinks She's a Movie Critic.' haha
JK Sweetness. Good for you that your summer has arrived. Here's hoping it's a great one for you!
QG - Happy Summertime, dahling! Thanks for the WOOHOO! :)
Charlie ~ Thank you for your kind words. Moving on can be scary, but life is to short to be without passion each day.
Foam ~ Oh god I love every version of Summertime. :) Janis Joplin has to be my favorite, though! Yes, I am at my computer sipping hot Dunkin' Donuts coffee and thinking of you on the other end sipping your java!
Marty ~ I am all about anything for geeks and nerds! ;)
What a wonderful summer you will have, looking forward to an exciting career change and enjoying this period of happy transition! :)
Must be a big relief. So much of a person's life is spent at work...
I only had one job I really hated. I was still in my twenties and it was the end of the shoe shop era in New Hampshire. My job was to move piles of boxes from one location to another on a factory floor all day. Felt like something from a Dickens novel!
Big Splashes all around! I'm excited for you! Change is scary but good! I'm living proof!
baby blue, whatever you do, you'll rock at it.

YAY! This is amazing. I'm glad you made the change. It sounds like you've needed it!
And the anticpation of the splash is half of the fun! Good luck.
This feeling must be even better than you imagined it to be when you started your quest a few months ago. Enjoy every second of it!
Have you figured out your next move? How exciting. I predict a FABULOUS summer for you.
Oh my god I love Hopper's work. GOOD choice.
